About the Ink Doc
James Kerner M.D., Ph.D.
I’m a practicing dermatologist with 25+ years of experience. I graduated from Yale with a degree in Biology, completed an M.D. and Ph.D. at the University of Washington, and finished a residency and research fellowship in Dermatology at Harvard.
I‘ve spent over 450 hours being inked in the USA, England, France, Canada and Japan and Japan. I’ll add other countries in 2025.
I live in southern New Mexico, where I see patients of all ages. I work for one of the fastest-growing medical practice companies in the country. I’ve authored multiple research articles as well as short stories, a novel and several screenplays.
I am committed to helping tattoo enthusiasts achieve their inking goals safely and effectively. All of my advice, protocols and recommendations are free of charge.
